The Central team, including myself, would firstly like to wish our customers, their employees and families continued health during these difficult times when the world is fighting Coronavirus.

Having been in existence for 29 years, Central have had long, mutually beneficial relationships with many members of our customer base and consider all of our customers firstly as clients, and secondly as individuals and friends.

A support and services business like Central is predominantly a people business. We are only as good as our engineers, technical experts, sales, marketing and management teams that I am honoured to be part of and lead.

Like all responsible businesses, we saw what was initially happening across the world, and predicted what effect that would have on the UK, our business, our customers’ businesses and our highly valued employees. We implemented the necessary systems, processes and procedures that would allow everyone in the business to safely and effectively work from home and to provide the same industry leading level of service that our customer base is used to receiving. Importantly, we also tested everything with a dry run well before we closed the door and locked up our office on Monday 23rd March until the world gets back to normal and we can return.

As a result of our preparation and planning, our established Housing Association customers and our growing SME customer base are not only enjoying the same level of service that they are used to, we are also able to provide their home workers with a full support service to ensure that their “working from home experience” goes as well as possible, keeping our customers’ IT networks operating at the highest possible level.

Central’s private cloud installation, housed at our secure datacentre and backed up to a second Lancashire installation, is up and running providing our growing customer user base with processing power and also cloud disaster recovery in addition to automated backup services. Our cloud installations have a dedicated team ensuring that they are always available and operating at maximum efficiency. Ensuring that you have effective disaster recovery and backup is absolutely key in an environment like the one that we are all presently operating within.

The health and wellbeing of our employees and their families has always been a priority for the senior team at Central and this is now even more important in the environment that we are all living and working in at the moment. Working at their homes, our teams are safe and protected and highly productive. Where staff are required to work on customer site, we work with our clients to ensure that all parties are comfortable with the distancing measures and ensuring that any on site work is carried out with no risk to everyone concerned.

We look forward to working with our existing clients and our growing list of new customers once the world returns to normal. Rest assured, our highly skilled, friendly team will always be here to help you when you need us.
